The picture shows a pack of wicketed clear polybags. Wicketed polybags are considered a “semi-automated” means of packing as both hands are free to load and seal. Wicket packs can also be mounted on equipment to aid in loading and sealing. Click the picture to enlarge it. The picture shows….
- a 1.5″ lip at top (1.5″is standard but can make the lip larger or smaller if desired).
- bags have a 3″bottom gusset. The bottom is “pushed in” to form a pleat at the bottom. A 1.5″ pleat is a 3″ bottom gusset. The gusset helps fit the product better when the product has a third dimension.
- Common wicket sizes (all with 4″ legs): 2″, 3″, 4″, 5″, 7″. Widths narrower than 4″ are typically on a “T” wicket”.
- Bags are typically described by the usable area- width by length plus the lip. Example: 6×10 wicketed bag would would be 6″ wide by 10″ length plus 1.5″ lip. (6×10 usable area and 6×11.5 overall)
- Number of bags per wicket will depend on bag size. 100 to 200 is typical.
